Valentine Card with Brayed Bride Paper

This card shows you how you can bray over a piece of Bride Specialty Paper (#115669-$13.95~10 sheets) to add color to the paper. You can use any color of ink. I used Melon Mambo (#115656-$5.95).

Fold the 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Melon Mambo CS in half to form a card

Roll Melon Mambo ink over the ¾” x 5 ½” striped bridal paper; ink will go on some areas and not the others so it will look like white and “the color of ink” striped paper; use a tissue to wipe off the excess ink; set aside to dry

Stamp the heart image onto scrap White CS with Melon Mambo ink ( I used the heart from Sweet Centers Stamp Set---you can use any heart design like the new I (Heart) Hearts from the Occasions Mini Catalog); cut out; set aside

Stamp desired greeting onto scrap White CS using Melon Mambo ink ~ I used Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (#115370); punch out using a Modern Label punch (#116630-$15.95); punch holes in the ends using a 1/16” handheld punch—this makes faux brads.

Adhere the brayed piece onto the 1” x 5 ½” piece of White CS. You will now have the pieces as shown in the photo below.

Ahere all the pieces to card front and your card is complete.

Leadership 2010 Photos

I would like to share with you some photos from my trip to the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference held in Phoenix, AZ last week.

The theme was Love What You Do. (Of course we do!) When we checked in we received a beautiful bag with goodies.

You can see that I love the pattern on the bag because my pajama pants were almost a perfect match.

My roommate for the week was Brenda Keenan. I met her while attending the Founder's Circle Retreat. We became instant friends and enjoyed meeting up and spending time together again at leadership. Here we are during the First General Session.

On Thursday evening we attended a special event for Managers and above.....Manager's Reception. This year was a Fiesta and Rodeo.
Me and Brenda in front of the outside fireplace

Shelli's husband, Sterling, road out at the beginning of the rodeo with a Stampin' Up! Flag.

When we got to our tables we found another gift....a stamp set!

With friends at dinner: Erika, Me, Brenda, Debbie

On the last day at General Session Erika and I were Prize Patrol Winners.

In closing....everyone received a Quilt Square (seen in photo below) made with pieces cut out using the Big Shot and a stamp set that will be in the next mini catalog.

Leadership is a wonderful event for Stampin' Up! demonstrators. If you would like to become a demonstrator and participate in their wonderful events contact me for details. I would love to have you as part of my team. This month the starter kit is discounted by 15% and you will also receive any stamp set of your choice with your kit. Click HERE for more details.

A special thank you to Brenda for some of the photos.

New Punch Design from Stampin' Up!

Starting with the new 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog and continuing with all new punch designs going forward, Stampin' Up! has adopted a new body style for our punches!

A few features of the new punch style:

• Low-profile, rectangular punch body allows for easier stacking & storing
• Punches lock shut for easier storage & transport
• Dual labels on top & end for easy identification when stored
• Available in three sizes: small, medium, and extra-large
• New punches allow for larger punched images
• More intricate designs while providing greater ease of use.
• Extra -large punch images allow for two-step designs (ie:Two-Step Bird punch)
• Corner punches allow you to punch a corner design along the inside edges of a page, not just corners
• Larger, whole-hand handle design provides better leverage for easier use
• Available in an exclusive Stampin' Up! Color

Statement from Stampin' Up!:
Part of Stampin' Up!'s commitment to providing demonstrators and customers with the very best crafting tools includes the belief in what we call continuous improvement. Essentially what this means is that even if something works very well, but we see a chance to improve it, we will work to make it even better. While new punch designs will be in the new body style, existing designs will remain in the existing body style for now. We will communicate any further changes as those decisions are made.

The new punches can be found in the new Occasions Mini Catalog and there is one in the Sale-A-Bration catalog that you can earn for FREE! We know that you will love this new design.

Balloon Sweet Treat Card Tutorial

This card was a project done by my recent Hostess Club members. I wanted to show them a way to make a card, fill it with treats, and then be able to take out the treats without destroying the card.

The directions for this card:

Fold the 5 ½” x 8 ½” Yo Yo Yellow CS in half to form a card.

Stamp desired inside message using Rich Razzleberry ink.

Stamp the balloon image onto the 2 ½” x 3 ¾” Whisper White CS close to the bottom using Rich Razzleberry ink.

Place the 1 ¾” Circle punch just above the balloon strings---align and punch.

Adhere the White CS onto the 2 ¾” x 4” Rich Razzleberry CS.

Next you will punch out a 1 ¾” circle from the Razzleberry CS using the White CS circle as a guide.

Place (do not tape) the layered piece to the front of the card front; draw a circle on the YoYo Yellow card front using the punched hole as a guide; remove the layered piece; punch a hole at the marked area.

Open the card and place (do not tape) the 3” x 3” piece of Razzleberry CS on the left side over the punched hole. (The top edge of the Rich Razzleberry piece will be on the top edge of the Yo Yo Yellow card.) Close the card making sure the 3” x 3” piece does not move.

Next draw a circle on the Razzleberry piece using the hole on the card front as the guide.

Place the 1 ¾” circle punch over the circle drawn on the Razzleberry piece and punch out; add a dimensional to each corner of the Razzleberry square as close to the edge as possible; determine the top by placing at the open circle and then place a dimensional at the center of the top only.

Punch out a tab from scrap Razzleberry CS; fold in half, adhere to the bottom of the 2" x 4" YoYo Yellow piece; slide the piece under the Razzleberry square and stamp “Sweet Treats” through the circle area using Razzleberry ink.

Remove the adhesive protection strip from the treat cup; adhere to the card front.

Place the layered White & Razzleberry piece on the card front.

Next adhere the Razzleberry square piece to the inside of card making sure you align the punched circles.

Fold a strip of Razzleberry Polka Dot ribbon in half; cut ends at an angle; open & adhere to card front.

Stamp “Happy Birthday” onto scrap White CS; punch out with a Word Window Punch; adhere to ribbon piece.

Add treats to the cup and insert the 2” x 4” strip.

This card is perfect for anyone's birthday. This stamp set- Sweet Centers-116521-$29.95 -can be found in our Holiday Mini catalog is only availabe until January 4...so don't delay your order.
